Hello CSA Family!

It’s hard to believe that it is the middle of July already!  Where does the time go?  We are hard at work picking, planting, and weeding.  We are also working to harvest and store hay, which will be fed to the cattle through out the winter months.  In fact, everything that is fed to our livestock is raised right here on the farm!

We are so thankful to all of you who have let us know how much you are enjoying the CSA.  If you are interested in canning or freezing the surplus vegetables, PLEASE place an order as soon as you see it appear in your bags.  For instance, green beans are now a part of your weekly vegetables.  If you want to can or freeze them, let us know now.  We will fill the orders on a first come, first serve basis.  We charge a small fee for this service. 

We will be butchering chicken again in August.  You can place your orders at any time by emailing rshaffer1@localnet.com or calling 988-3484.  You can also order by using our face book page (look up New Life CSA). 

It is officially zucchini season!  This is by far my favorite vegetable because it is so versatile, so I’ve included a lot of recipes for it on the recipe page.  Please check it out!
